GROUNDS

GROUNDS:   There are 5 concrete target holders on range 5 (and 1 target holder on range 4); along with target frames.   DO NOT SHOOT THE CONCRETE TARGET HOLDERS!!! They will be buried when the ground thaws. On range 5, there is 1 frame at 25-yards, 50-yards, 150-yards and 2 frames at 100-yards. These target frames are movable, and if you need to move them; place the target frames behind the firing line and under the roof.

2011 WORK HOURS:

 

OUTDOOR: Grounds - The next work party is on March 5th at 9:00AM. Please bring chainsaws, tree trimming equipment, posthole diggers, shovels, rakes, battery operated screw guns.   Range 5 (300-yard) and range 1 (100 yard) will be closed on this day until after the work party is done.

ORIENTATION 

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION (NMO): You need to attend NMO to obtain your current year’s membership card & gate key.  Check the enclosed calendars for dates & times.  ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED OR NO INSTRUCTOR WILL BE AT THE CLUB FOR THE CLASS.  For reservation or to ask any questions - Contact Charles Varnold at (309) 697-6766 or via e-mail at tunaot1@sbcglobal.net

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS

INDIVIDUAL DUES INVOICES ARE NOT SENT OUT.  THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER NOTICE, EITHER E-MAIL/WEB VERSION OR HARD COPY MAILED VERSION IS ALL THAT YOU RECEIVE (provided your current e-mail/address is on file).

Your membership expires on December 31st, 2010, and the gate lock will be changed on January 1st, 2011. 

Please be sure to return your 2010 membership card (fill-in the personal info on the back of your old card—even if there are no changes)with your dues and/or fees even if you don’t have any or only partial work hour credits.  This includes both non-renewing and renewing Annual Members, Associate Life Members, and Life Members (both under and over 65) all with or without work hours.  Expired membership cards are needed for the Club’s records.  Thank you.

Annual dues are $75.00(Dues) + $10.00(Land Fund) + $10.00 for each work hour NOT worked.  DO NOT mail your old key—if you want to return it, drop it in the box at the end of the sidewalk to the Clubhouse—remember, you will need this key for access until Jan. 1st.  Mail your 2010 Membership Card (filled out) to: CSC, Box 13, Chillicothe, Il. 61523  

ALL MEMBERS – RENEW BY FEBRUARY 1ST, TO AVOID BEING ASSESSED AN ADDITIONAL LATE PAYMENT FEE OF $10.00 PER MONTH.

A BELATED SAD NOTE

 

CSC member Mark Woodshank reports that longtime CSC shooter and friend of CSC Edward Fujita, lost his battle with cancer and passed away in June of 2010.  Edward was a regular Silhouette competitor and will be missed.

MAUSER MATCH

 

Mauser Matches: Results from the January 8th, 2010 Match

Next month’s match is February 8th.  Mauser Matches are informal centerfire rifle matches fired from standing at 50 meters on the NRA SR-1 target with open sights, or with unimproved pre-1964 military bolt-action repeaters.  The special challenge is for the Battle of Stalingrad Rifles: any rifle used in this battle may be shot for credit in the special challenge.  For any additional details, call Max Koehl at 385-1033.

NEW PISTOL PRACTICE SESSION

CSC member Jeff  Payne is taking over as Match Director for the Bullseye program.  Jeff has scheduled the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month be for Bullseye practice at 6:30 PM. These sessions will begin on February 16, 2011.  The Thursday afternoon (1:00 PM) practice sessions will remain in place, and Jeff’s Wednesday evening session will provide some range practice time for those shooters who cannot make it to the range afternoons.  Jeff’s contact info is:  309-264-2276 or enyap39@yahoo.com

CMP/NRA High Power Rifle matchs:
