A big THANK YOU to everyone who has reacted so positively to our notices about

SAFETY issues.  It simple MUST be our first priority.  An accident or bad publicity incident could cripple our Club.  Once again—THANKS for your help.

INDOOR RANGE  CLEAN-UP:  INDOOR CLEAN-UP SCHEDULED FOR 9:00 AM ON Saturday, SEPT. 11, 2010

 

GROUNDS:  NO OUTDOOR CLEAN-UP IN SEPT.  NEXT OUTDOOR CLEAN-UP WILL BE ON OCT. 2, 2010 AT 8:00 AM.

please bring brush cutting tools, rakes, shovels, etc.  Contact Steven Schneckenburger at 692-7807 if you have questions.

 

Please pickup targets, bottles, cans, hulls when you are done shooting as per range rules # 9 and  #12.

ORIENTATION 

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION (NMO): You need to attend NMO to obtain your current year’s membership card & gate key.  Check the enclosed calendars for dates & times.  ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED OR NO INSTRUCTOR WILL BE AT THE CLUB FOR THE CLASS.  For reservation or to ask any questions - Contact Charles Varnold at (309) 697-6766 or via e-mail at tunaot1@sbcglobal.net

ALL MEMBERS:  It is YOUR responsibility to make sure that the Club has your current home address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.  If you leave town, bulk mail is not forwarded.  If you don’t ask us to mail to an alternate address or to suspend your mailings until you return, & we get ‘failure to deliver’ notices on you (& return postage fees), we will drop you from the mailings until you let us know your current info or status.

                     LADIES --WOMENS TARGET SHOOTING PRACTICE-- LADIES

 

When asked “Why don’t you shoot?”; apparently, most women reply “I’ve never been invited.”

 

                                                              WELL, YOU ARE NOW INVITED!!!!!!

 

            We are going to shoot 5 targets, 10 rounds each, in 10 minute segments.

                        Don’t have a pistol, no problem; one will be provided.

 

           YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN EAR AND EYE PROTECTION.

 

               RANGE MASTER(S) WILL BE PRESENT AT ALL SESSIONS

                                 NO MAGNUM CARTRIDGES ALLOWED

                                                                 M1 GARAND MATCH

                    

CSC will be holding a  High Power Rifle match for M1 Garands only on September 18 at 1:00 PM.   Regular CMP High Power Rifle match will be held at 7:30AM.  Contact Steven Schneckenburger at (309) 692-7807 or Chris Bach at (309) 256-1712 for more information.

Our nextmatch is September 25th and the special challenge will be for rifles firing the 7.62x39 cartridge.  Ammunition will be provided for your challenge relay.  Mauser Matches are shot with centerfire rifles with open sights and with unimproved pre-1964 military bolt action repeaters on the SR-1 target, standing at 50 meters.  Call Max Koehl at 385-1033 with any questions.

Wonder what all the acronyms used out on the range and in this newsletter mean? This area of the newsletter is dedicated to helping explain these. If I forget some or misidentify them, please let me know.
