Because of the demise of Cal Loser, our Gun Show Manager, the Chillicothe Sportsmen’s Club needs someone to take on the responsibility of managing our semi-annual gun shows, which occur each April & September.  Responsibilities include all planning, setting up before, running the show, cleaning up after, and all of the details in between.  The Board will assist you in any way it can.  If you are interested in taking on this responsibility, please let one of the Board Members or Officers know by or at the November 11th Board Meeting (also election night).

GUN BAN NEWS

GUN BAN BILLS HAVE NOT GONE AWAY!  They have been tabled.  Detrimental bills to our right to own and use most firearms could resurface at any time.  The Illinois Legislature will soon reconvene for a short veto session later this fall and there are several anti-gun bills that could be considered.  Two prominent bills are SB 1195 (banning most firearms with a bore diameter of .50 or greater) & SB 947 (Gun Show Ban / Major Restrictions).  Additionally, any number of anti-gun measures could be added to pending bills via the amendment process.  Please remember to make periodic POLITE and FRIENDLY written/telephonic reminders to your legislators about your position on proposed firearms related issues.  Their local telephone numbers are listed in your telephone book.  Their office can give you their Springfield telephone number and e-mail address.

Web sites with information and details relating to firearms ownership related bills are:
